Writer, science communicator and veterinarian Dr Phil Tucak has a unique skill set with experience in writing, journalism, science communication, strategic communications management, wildlife conservation, veterinary medicine & surgery, publication & signage design, education content development and project management.
Phil graduated from Murdoch University in 1999 and has worked in mixed-animal and small animal practices across Australia and the United Kingdom. Phil has also previously worked as Communications Manager for the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, Communications and Interpretation Coordinator for Perth Zoo, as a journalist for SBS, and as a television producer and presenter, and radio producer for the ABC.
In 2020 Phil was awarded Veterinary Business Professional of the Year by the Australian Veterinary Association’s Veterinary Business Group. He works for organisations including the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Vetnostics, Vet Practice Magazine, dvm360 and SBS. As the Wildlife Outreach Vet, Phil works to share the conversation about conservation.
